One with Jesus

How did you get in here without wedding clothes, friend?…(Matt 22:12).

When we receive salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ, we are enjoined with Him in a lasting covenant.  A covenant that He will stay faithful to for all eternity.  We cannot become new creations in Christ we do not come to Him enjoined in marriage.  Yes, we must do away with our old self and become one with Him.  For anyone who is married, we all understand that no marriage works when someone refuses to become one with the other.

There is a letting go that must take place within our lives if we are truly to become one with Christ.  We must, with everything inside of us, let go of that old life and by God’s grace, as we join ourselves with Christ in His lasting covenant we are given a brand new name- child of God.

I cannot even begin to fathom what life will be like with Him in glory.  But I have the opportunity to live with Him now in a lasting relationship that will grow and flourish as I give up more of myself to become like Him.

Father, I want to let go of everything so that I might become more like you.  Please forgive me when I don’t do this.  Help me now to grow up in you for your glory.  Help me to seek you with every part of me.  I want our relationship to show to the world of what you have done in me, in Jesus name, Amen.
